Leave Johannesburg or Pretoria around midday, and a 5-hour drive on the N1 / N11 gets you through the border at Martin's Drift and to good and affordable overnight accommodation options. Next morning it is a straight-forward drive on good roads through the beautiful Kalahari and about 6 hours to Maun via Palapye.
